Share on FacebookI totally forgot to post a timelapse made from my kitchen window almost a month ago. I thought I could capture the movement of the skies but unfortunately it got overcast during the night.

Share on FacebookBack from some great days with awesome people who took me for some magnificent roadtrips which included Woodstock, Catskill Mountains, and the Adirondacks.
So after the timelapse here now the photos.
My 6 favorites (Check out the gallery to see all photos!):
Or just lean back and enjoy a slideshow.
Share on Facebookhu! my first timelapse using my new intervalometer and the D90. It’s nothing special but it is amazing to see the changes in lights & shadows.
Share on FacebookJust got back from Marsa Alam, Egypt where I spent a week purely for the purpose of going scuba-diving. It was excellent! My favorite spot was for sure Elphinstone. It is basically a stone in the middle of the ocean. It arises from a depth of appr. 400m. Steep faces all around!!! Unfortunately, there were no sharks at that day but it was still unbelievable. Actually, the best spots (especially for taking photos) were in about 6m depth.
Other spots where Marsa Shona, Abu Dabour, Abu Saile, and Shony Bay. Shony Bay was also the spot where I did my first night-dive ever! It is kind of scary jumping into the pitch black water but you get used to quite fast. Unfortunately, I could make only one photo before my battery run flat. Have to do it again for sure!
Here are my favorite photos from that trip:

But these are only 6 out of 150! Be sure to check all of them in the underwater section of the gallery. Or simply click HERE to jump to the Marsa Alam gallery.
I also took a lot of short video-clips. Almost 300! So I guess I need some to create a full video out of it. I have a good feeling that this time the video turns out to be a lot better than the last time
Thanks a lot to Axel, Ilona, and Detlef for beeing the best divemasters & buddies. Thanks also to Andi, Claudia, and Matthes at Go 4 Dive.

For the second time, I went to Dahab for scuba-diving. This time I had a much better underwater camera kit. I am amazed how good it was working. And it really wasn’t that expensive. Cooooooooolioooooo!
The photos were taken at various dive sites including Moray Garden, Glasfish, Lighthouse, Golden Blocks, Um Sid, Blue Hole, Canyon, Rick’s Reef, Three Pools, Garden Place, and Canyon Tables.
A lot of different fishies showed off in front of the camera. Of course Disney’s clownfish could be seen. But also some moray eels, a lot of triggerfishes and doctorfishes proved some underwater skills.
Here a some randoms from the gallery.

Wooohooo….It’s done!!! 3 hours to upload the first batch of photos from Congo which is not really a Heart of Darkness. People here are super friendly and patient although all of them have hard times explaining something to me because of my lacking french skills.
Congo is for sure “different” but it is way better than I had imagined. The only thing that really bothers me are the trillions of mosquitos. They are everywhere! And you never know which one carries Malaria. That freaks me out! So far I got only one bite. I hope it was not THE one!
Actually, I am quite surprised that I do not have more because my room is occupied by a constant number of nearly 10 bloodsuckers. Somehow we found this arrangement that they don’t bother me and I don’t bother them. If it stays like that I’m happy. Maybe we can become friends by the end of the month.

So last weekend we went to a Gorilla sanctuary. Unfortunatley, those dudes are kind of shy so I didn’t get the chance of taking some proper photos of them. In fact, the silverback was chased away by a Spanish girl. Arrgh! But the best (and hardest) part of the trip was actually the hiking. Spectacular landscapes with awesome views. Really nice!
In other news, we went to visit Brazzaville’s museum today which is actually a memorial for this fellow Frenchmen called Brazza. Believe it or not but that bloke was the founder of Brazzaville – the capital of the Republic of the Congo (not to confuse with the Democratic Republic of the Congo with it’s capital Kinshasa).
That’s it for now!
